Simon says... Do what Mommy does:

Lately, whatever I do, I've notice Makenzie mocking my actions.  Everything I do to prepare myself for the workday each morning, she'll stare and then say "Mommy, can I have some of that" or "Mommy, I need some of that."

This morning as I was walking into her school I had snow stuck to the bottom of my boot, so I stopped at the step before the entrance and kicked my boots on the step and continued on to the door.  I opened the door to the school and looked back b/c Kenz wasn't next to me.  She was back at that step, kicking her little boots to get the snow off.  It made me tear up a little b/c in just a few short years she will be in her room with the door shut, blasting music or watching TV, rolling her eyes at the things I say and do b/c it's not so cool anymore.  So I made a promise to myself that I am going cherish everyone of those moments that she is watching and copying and treasure them forever.

I thank God everyday for my precious, sweet, kind, well mannered child.  I pray that God will bless her little heart, that she will strive in succeed in any goal she wants to reach for, and that he protects her from any harm.  I never knew my heart could love something so much, it is absolutely amazing.

Now, I am going to take a few hours off early today to go hang out with my favorite girl.  She wants to do my hair, nails and make-up tonight so we are going to get this party started a little earlier.

Domestic Diva...

Mimi sent me a few picture of Makenzie today being domestic.  They're so cute, I wanted to share.

She is also wearing a "party dress" while she works. :)  This girl is ALL girl, that's for sure!

New Years 2011...

This New Years was very special.  I got to spend it with two of my very best friends, Mandy and Kelly and our friends Charlie & Sam along with all of the kids.  We played Wii bowling, Wii Wheel of Fortune, and a lot of different board games.  There is honestly no where else I would have wanted to be.  I'd like to start making it a tradition.  Here are some pictures...

My Godson, Kolten Dudley
 Kolten sister, Gracie Dudley
 Silly girls; silly faces
 Best Friends Forever
Sam and Charlie Knott's son, Devin
All the kids playing Wii bowling (Kenzie, making sure she gets in the picture too...LOL)
Ugh, don't you just want to eat him up?  He is so cute.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years!

Christmas with Mimi, Pappy and Daddy...

Here are a few pictures of Makenzie with her Mimi, Pappy and Daddy.  I think they turned out very nice.   If you look really close of the picture of them on the couch, Uncle Derek is right there on a necklace around Mimi's neck...AND the one with them in front of the tree...Uncle Derek's photo is inside of a bulb at the top as well as always in our hearts.  ;)

Doesn't every one look so nice?

Uncle Steven's Broken Arm...

As most of you already know, my brother broke his arm two Friday's ago at his work Christmas party.  He was arm wrestling, something he will never do again.  He has since then had surgery to fix the bone.  A plate , 12 screws and about 38 staples later he is on the road to recovery.  The doctors say he will gain full use of his arm again and that it will be stronger than ever with the plate and screws holding that bone together.  He will be back to working out in a few weeks.  Thanks everyone for your prayers.  If you have a weak stomach, no need to proceed, these pictures are graphic.

This is an x-ray of the bone.  The top left is his shoulder, the bottom right is toward his elbow.  I am sure you can find the spiral break for yourself.  :)
After surgery, in the therapists office.  You can see the bruising, staples and how massive that scar is going to be...

Christmas 2010....

Christmas was great, as always.  Kenzie didn't seem as excited as I thought she would about Santa.  She came around after awhile though.  She may have been over whelmed.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
