Simon says... Do what Mommy does:

Lately, whatever I do, I've notice Makenzie mocking my actions.  Everything I do to prepare myself for the workday each morning, she'll stare and then say "Mommy, can I have some of that" or "Mommy, I need some of that."

This morning as I was walking into her school I had snow stuck to the bottom of my boot, so I stopped at the step before the entrance and kicked my boots on the step and continued on to the door.  I opened the door to the school and looked back b/c Kenz wasn't next to me.  She was back at that step, kicking her little boots to get the snow off.  It made me tear up a little b/c in just a few short years she will be in her room with the door shut, blasting music or watching TV, rolling her eyes at the things I say and do b/c it's not so cool anymore.  So I made a promise to myself that I am going cherish everyone of those moments that she is watching and copying and treasure them forever.

I thank God everyday for my precious, sweet, kind, well mannered child.  I pray that God will bless her little heart, that she will strive in succeed in any goal she wants to reach for, and that he protects her from any harm.  I never knew my heart could love something so much, it is absolutely amazing.

Now, I am going to take a few hours off early today to go hang out with my favorite girl.  She wants to do my hair, nails and make-up tonight so we are going to get this party started a little earlier.
