Uncle Steven

I was looking at one of "Uncle Steven's" webpages today and found this picture. I couldn't stop looking at it. It's a great picture of both Makenzie and Steven(Thanksgiving 2008, Uncle Greg and Aunt Becky's house) so I decided to post it. We miss him so much and I am excited to say he will be moving home for awhile (I won't say for good) in a few weeks.
Uncle Steven is an avid follower of the "Makenzie blog" and if I wait too long in between posts (which I am known to do) I am SURE to get an email or a text from him asking for an update (which means so much to me). Makenzie loves Uncle Steven so much and, to me, he is the best Uncle in the world. I feel so blessed to have such an awesome brother who adores my daughter. So, I wanted to post a tribute to a GREAT Uncle. We love you!

Summer time...

Makenzie is leaving tonight with Jared to go to Ocean City until August 9th. I am going to miss her so much. I asked her last night to please remember to call me and she said that she would. I told her to make sure she said her prayers every night and I would be praying for her. : ) She is so sweet. She told me not to be sad, she would be back and come get me, she won't be gone long. I know she is going to have a great time with all of her cousins.
Last night she was playing with her new Barbie's she got for her 3rd Birthday. She was drawn to one in particular and took it with us to run errands. When she is in the car with me I like to turn off the radio and talk (if she allows this, sometimes we have to listen to her favorite songs). While in the car I asked her what her Barbie's name was (I like to ask her questions like this to get her imagination running). She looked at me, looked at the Barbie, looked back up at me and said "Um... Mommy, her don't talk, her a Barbie." I said "You are right, but you can give her a name", she wouldn't. On our way home I asked her again. She took Barbie and made a pretend high pitched voice for her, then she would say something back in her normal voice, then a pretend high pitch voice for the Barbie. Finally she said "Mommy, her said her name is Sassy... Sassy Barbie." I thought it was so funny and wondered where she got the name "Sassy" from.
This morning she woke up with me when my alarm went off. Something tells me she was already up watching the Disney Channel that I left on the TV from the night before. I rolled over and she was looking at me and she said "Mommy, you have to wake up with a BIG smile like this..." and she smiled so big. So I did it too. She said, "Ok, now let me hold you for a minute." She is so adorable. That really gave my day an extra special start. Dad emailed me this morning and said she played for a couple of hours after I left for work (4:50 am) and she was already back to sleep (7:00 am). I guess she will skip her nap today and sleep good in the car for Jared on their way down to Ocean City.
Keep the Wood's in your prayers for safe arrival, safe vacation, and safe ride home!

Today my baby, ah hmm... I mean, "big girl" is 3. Wow, time really does fly by. Kenzie and I were just looking at pictures of her when she was a baby. We were both laughing (I was fighing back the tears). I cannot believe how much she has grown up!! Now she is behind me, trying on a pair of "high heels" that she got for her birthday (a dress up set). She just said "now I really a big gurl." Yes, she really is, so smart, so much personality, so sweet, caring, and polite. Jared and I are so very lucky!

We celebrated Makenzie's 3rd Birthday party with family and friends at Pump it up Inflatables. It was a wonderful time. Makenzie was soaked with sweat from head to toe by the time we got to the party room for cake and pizza. She was tired and ready for a nap by the time we left. She received A LOT of nice things from everyone!!

Re- Cap of the month of July so far...

Kenzie started the month out by going to OC with Daddy. He took her to see a movie and fireworks. She had a lot of fun. She broke out in hives the Wednesday before (which we have yet to get rid of). She is taking Zyrtec and must remain on Zyrtec until the rash goes away (which is unknown). She has been swimming a few times and really does well (with floaties, of course). She also helped Katie Jones celebrate her 28th birthday.

As I have mentioned before Makenzie LOVES Taylor Swift!!! Well she has added a few "new" favorite songs to the list. Pink "So What", The Ting Tings "That's Not My Name" and she likes Lady Ga Ga. She just rocks out (dancing and singing) in the back seat and wants to listen to these songs over and over. She knows every word.

Makenzie will be turning 3 on Sunday. My how time flies. July 21, 2006 I was walking into the hospital to be induced and a year ago today I was waiting to be transferred to Labor and Delivery for a dose of Pitocin. We are having her birthday party at "Pump it Up" Inflatables on Saturday. Jared took her to pick out her birthday cake last night. She is very excited.

Happy Birthday Katie!!! This is a picture of her hives. Poor baby.
