Ocean City Festival of Lights

We went to the OC Festival of Lights with Bailey Krikstan, her Mommy, Nanna, and PaPa. Santa Claus was there but Makenzie was scared. She said that she didn't want to sit on his lap and take a picture.

We are in OC to see MiMi and Pappy's new condo. It is SOOOO beautiful. MiMi has it decorated very nice. OC has a Christmas light festival every year. We are going to meet up with the Bailey's/Krikstan's to go look at the lights tomorrow. We are very excited to see baby Bailey.

First time Makenzie spent the night away from home.

This weekend Makenzie spent the night at someone else's house other than Oma & PaPa's or Mi Mi and Pappy's. She stayed at her cousin Madison, Hannah and Nathan's. She said that she had a really good time coloring an playing with play-doh. Jared and I went the Maryland Football game, so she went to play with Madison and Hannah.

Makenzie had another Friday night play date

Makenzie had some of her friend over again this Friday night. Brandon and Brooklynn Robertson (Steph and Chris Roberson's kids), Taylor Thompson (Kelly's niece), Braylon Swor (Shawn and Elaina's son). They had a good time.

Makenzie had some of her friends over to play this weekend. Gracie, Madison and Taylor. This is a video of Makenzie and I talking about our night. She is saying that she had fun hiding with Gracie and Madison. Also, Ryan Leonard came over to visit and she talks a little about how she was being shy and wouldn't give Ryan a hug.

Bath time

Tonight during bath time, Makenzie is playing with her "two balls". She says she is "catching some fish". She thinks the fish are "so silly hiding". She has such an imagination.

I caught Makenzie doing one of her FAVORITE things, singing. She was playing in her tent, singing and singing.

Kenneth Wood

Yesterday we found out sad news. Makenzie's Great Grandfather Kenneth Wood (Pop Pop) died from cancer in his lungs. Pop Pop is Pappy's Dad. He will be buried Saturday (tomorrow) at Trinity near Me Maw (Makenzie's Great Grandmother) who, unfortunately Makenzie didn't get the joy of meeting. She passed away when Jared was 7. Me Maw (from what Jared, Mi Mi, and Pappy tell me, as well a many others) was a very special lady who touched a lot of hearts. Jared was especially close with her. Trinity is also where Makenzie's Uncle Derek (Jared's brother) is, another very special person who is greatly missed. I am excited to know, for sure, that Makenzie will get to meet them all one day!! : ) Obituary Kenneth Wilmer Wood, 75, of Bryans Road died Nov. 6, 2008, of lung cancer at Civista Medical Center, La Plata. Mr. Wood was of the Catholic faith and worked for the federal government as an A&E tester on the naval base in Indian Head until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 43rd Infantry Division. Born April 19, 1933, in Oraville, he was the son of the late Louis Wood and the late Elsie Wood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della R. Wood; brother, Robert "Pooch" Wood; and grandson, Derek C. Wood. He is survived by his children, Roz Hock, Kenny Wood, Wayne Wood, Shelly Baldwin, Mitch Wood and West Wood; daughters-in-law, Joan Hock, Laurie Wood, Karen Wood, Kristine Wood and Lorraine Wood; son-in-law, Joey Baldwin; grandchildren, Ryan Hock, Tara Hock, Alex Hock, Jared Wood, Kelly Kavlick, Lindsey Wood, Kevin "Bunk" Wood, Sherri Osborn, Kirk Baldwin, Tommy Baldwin, Toni Adams, Nate Wood, Jason McCormick, Clint Wood, Natalie Wood and Whitney Crabtree; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hock, Damien C. Visitation and a service were held Nov. 8 at Huntt Funeral Service, La Plata. The Rev. William J. Thompson officiated. Burial took place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf. Makenzie took the flu like a champ. It lasted 10 hours for her. She was back to normal in no time. No such luck for Mommy and Daddy who got it the following day. I ended up in the hospital and Daddy is still home and very sick. She is taking care of us though, she brought me her trash can when she thought I needed it, rubbed my back and gave me lots of kisses followed by " you o-tay Mommy? You not feel dood Mommy? Wut wong Mommy?" She is SO sweet and caring!!

Sick

Makenzie and I are both home sick today. She, evidentially, has the stomach flu and we are having to rush her to the bathroom about every 15 minutes. She had been up since 2 am. I finally got her to go to sleep around 7:30 am. Jared went out and got Popsicles and pedia-lite. She is eating a Popsicle now. She is really having a rough time. She got this same flu when she was 5 months old, January 02, 2007. We were in Blacksburg VA to attend Nanaw's funeral and Makenzie had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. She is a few years older now so it is easier to keep fluids in her. I hope this is just a 24 hour bug.
